At 10.30am the choir started singing carols at the Basilica of Xagħra. The choir interpreted ‘God Rest you merry gentlemen’, ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ and ‘Lulla Lully Lullay’. Then at 11am the High Mass started and was officiated by Mgr. Arc. C. Refalo. The choir was under the direction of Marouska Attard and accompanied by Ronald Camilleri on the organ.
The pieces interpreted included: ‘O Come all ye faithful’, ‘Whence is that goodly fragrant flowing’, ‘Gloria’ (Oltrasi), ‘Sanctus’ (Portelli), ‘Angus Dei’ (Cæsar). During the offerings, Marouska Attard interpreted Adam’s ‘O Holy Night’ and the psalm was interpreted by Cantor Stefan Attard.
